The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system, with water jets reaching 150 metres in height — taller than Big Ben. It sits at the base of the Burj Khalifa on Burj Lake and performs free shows every afternoon (1 pm and 1:30 pm) and evening (every 30 minutes from 6 pm to 11 pm). The fountain is free to watch from the surrounding promenade, the Souk Al Bahar bridge, and Burj Park. Boardwalk and lake ride tickets are available for closer access.

It is one of the world’s largest indoor aquariums, housing over 33,000 marine animals from more than 140 species, including sharks, rays, and a resident giant arapaima. Dubai Opera is a stunning dhow-shaped performance venue on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, a 5-minute walk from the Burj Khalifa. Souk Al Bahar is a traditional-style open-air souk and dining destination on the waterfront of Burj Lake, directly opposite the Dubai Fountain. The wooden bridge linking Souk Al Bahar to the Dubai Mall waterfront is the most famous photography spot for the Burj Khalifa and fountain — the view from this bridge at dusk, with the fountain running and the tower lighting up, is the iconic Downtown Dubai image. The souk itself has over 100 restaurants, cafes, and boutique retail units.
Burj Park is a small island park in the middle of Burj Lake, connected to the fountain promenade by a footbridge. It offers the most unobstructed full-tower view available at ground level — the only spot where you can see the complete Burj Khalifa from base to tip without surrounding buildings cutting the frame. Free to enter. Best at dusk and after dark when the Burj Khalifa light show begins at 7:45 pm.
Sky Views Observatory sits on floors 52 and 53 of The Address Sky View hotel, 219 metres above ground. It is 800 metres from the Burj Khalifa on foot. Attractions include a 360-degree observation deck, the Dubai Glass Slide (a transparent slide between floors), and the Edge Walk (an outdoor ledge walk around the building’s exterior). The Dubai Frame in Zabeel Park is a 150-metre picture-frame-shaped structure that offers views of both old Dubai (Deira and Bur Dubai on one side) and new Dubai (Downtown skyline on the other).
