The best free viewing spots for the Burj Khalifa fireworks are: the Dubai Mall Waterfront Promenade and Burj Lake area (closest, best view, most crowded), Souk Al Bahar bridge and terrace (good angle, slightly less crowded than the promenade), Burj Park island (unobstructed full-tower view, usually manageable crowd levels), and Gate Village in DIFC (approximately 1 km away — far enough to capture the full tower in a camera frame). For New Year’s Eve, all these spots fill to capacity — arrive well in advance.
The closest and most popular free viewing position. The fountain area directly in front of Dubai Mall provides a full, unobstructed view of the fireworks launching from the tower. The promenade itself, the upper terrace levels, and the area near the Apple Store offer particularly good sightlines. For New Year’s Eve, arrive by 9 pm to secure a position.
The bridge between Souk Al Bahar and the Dubai Mall waterfront is the classic photography position — the bridge arch frames the illuminated Burj Khalifa above the fountain. Restaurants in Souk Al Bahar offer terrace seating with fountain views; booking 2–3 months in advance is typically required for New Year’s Eve.

The small island park in Burj Lake offers an unobstructed full-tower view without the densest crowds of the promenade. Access is via a footbridge from the waterfront. On New Year’s Eve, this island fills up too — but typically later than the promenade.
The Gate Village area in the Dubai International Financial Centre, approximately 1 km from the Burj Khalifa, offers the only vantage point where the complete 828-metre tower fits comfortably in a camera frame during the fireworks.
